It belongs to Ben, a friend of my husband Archie; he and his family have spent years restoring it - building cupboards from reclaimed timber, sourcing original copper baths - and it's finally available to rent (it sleeps six). Ramies

Ramies, a small family business based in Shanghai, make these lovely linen dresses to order - you send them your measurements, and what colour you'd like, and they are made for you, bespoke. The top dress can be worn with the buttons at the front or the back (I've ordered it in heather grey), and is just £44. The romantic dropped-waist dress is £51. Pictures: Ramies.

Woad Inc

These wool blankets are dyed in Norfolk using natural woad indigo pigment, which they grow organically on the farm there. They're part of a small organisation called Produced in Norfolk which works to protect rural skills from dying out, such as thatching and cider making and wild bee keeping. Picture: Woad Inc.

Monkstone Knitwear

Insanely cosy looking jumpers from this delicious, brand-new knitwear company, based on a farm in Pembrokeshire. The top jumper here has two little buttons on the back, and is £190; the second is knitted from undyed Dorset and Welsh Black Mountain wool, and is £180. They will see you through the coldest winter. Roseanna

This lovely label Roseanna is designed by two super-stylish Parisiennes. It's only been going two seasons - I spotted it at Donna Ida, one of only a few UK stockists. They do have an online shop, though (I'll take this shirt and this jacket please). Pictures: Roseanna.

Laurence Doligé

I was just in Fenwick and spotted this new French label, Laurence Dolige, designed by the woman who founded Madame a Paris. It's a cross between APC and Margaret Howell: quite simple clothes in really heavy, lovely quality materials, not as boyish as APC and not as boxy as Margaret Howell. I tried on masses and wanted it all. In fact, there was a check shirt and a pair of cotton trousers I was particularly taken by, and I'm trying to resist heading back there after work for some purchasing. Pictures: Laurence Dolige.
