Nicholas Hely Hutchinson

They're not fashionable, and you're more likely to see them on greetings cards than museum walls, but I find there's something so uplifting about Nicholas Hely Hutchinson's paintings. They're often of landscapes I know and love - such as Dorset, Cornwall and the west coast of Ireland - or wild flower meadows, remote cottages and bluebells woods. Primoeza

I am absolutely in love with this Australian knitwear company, Primoeza, from Elizabeth Rayman Yong. She seems to have very few stockists outside Australia, with none at all in Europe, but you can buy her beautiful jumpers here and see more of her lovely work on her blog.

White Horse Pottery

Beautiful glazed earthenware pieces from Wiltshire's White Horse Pottery. Trevor, Rory and John run this traditional pottery from an 150-year-old converted school in Westbury - and I'm going to make a beeline for it next time I'm there.

Grevi

I love this straw hat, pinned with silk flowers, by Grevi, a wonderful old Italian company run by the same Florentine family for four generations. They have two stores - one in Paris (on Place Alphonse Devilla) and one in Florence (on Via dell Spada) - where hats (from straw boaters to wide-brimmed, ribbon-trimmed sunhats) are perched on sculpted wrought-iron fittings. This shot is by the amazing Kate Powers, whose work I love.

Francoise Pendville

I really like this big-baggy-jumper-over-a-silk-frock look from Belgium's Francoise Pendville.

William Morris

Both my sets grandparents' houses were full of William Morris prints (my granny still has fruit on the walls of her breakfast room) so I have a such a soft spot for these wallpapers and fabrics. This year is the 150th anniversary of Morris & Co, and they're launching a new collection at London Design Week of never-before-seen interpretations of original Morris designs.

Herefordshire's Merchant & Mills sells the most beautifully packaged sewing essentials (glass-headed needles, pinking sheers etc) alongside Carolyn Denham's elegant dress patterns (I love the Trapeze), and a kit to make this very smart oilskin bag.
